Do I need to be a citizen, resident or alien OK to fill W9 form for company contracting the services my biz?
Q. I am in the process of getting my residency but I created an LLC (Limited Liability Company), and I will offer AutoCAD drafting services to engineers and architects. Do I need to wait until I become a resident, or citizen to fill W9 form for the company contacting me? I have tax ID number, also SSN. The type of business I established is an LLC (Limited Liability Company). I have no employees, just myself for now. I will be giving AutoCAD drafting services as a consultant.

A. A W9 is a form that gives each company you work for (which means if you work for more than one compnay, you may need to complete a W9 for each one) information so they can report what they are paying you to the IRS. So, if you are legally working in the US then you can fill out the W9. You can complete it with your Tax ID # or your SSN. Since you have your own company, I would use your Tax ID#. At the end of the year your contractors will mail you and the IRS a copy, so you can file your Taxes. Good luck!

Q. i have heard about selective services from people and my teacher said that when 18 years old, it is required by law to register in times of war or crysis. is it required to register for the selective services? what will happen if there was a draft? what if you dont register for it?

A. All males must register with the selective service when they turn 18. That is the law. It does not matter if we are at war or not. If there was a draft, the government uses the selective service to get the people needed for the military. If you don't register, you can go to jail. I can't say how often they enforce it, but the government has the authority to prosecute.

A. Did you pay for the internet/email plan? It sounds like it isn't active on your phone. If you did indeed pay for the add on internet/email plan, call customer service and have them reset it for you. It'll take 5 minutes or less. If you didn't, you need to add on the data plan. It's about $20 extra per month but it's unlimited email and internet usage. Good luck.
