I can't get too specific I've only got a limited time here. Exhaust fan maintenance. I would say periodic inspection is #1, then cleaning. Dust dirt accumulate on blades and blower wheels throwing them out of balance causing vibration which damage bearings, which would be the next item. Inspection, lubrication and replacement. Fans for cooling towers come in several dfferent types, propeller type blades, and centrifugal blowers. Props are more efficient but can be noisy, centrifugal blowers are also noisy but the direction of the noise can be controlled by the design of the tower. A cross flow type tower with fan mounted in the top of the tower is the most efficient.
