In live entertainment, there are several possible schemes for the seating assignment of spectators. There are several schemes which are most commonly used, though there are no hardfast rules and alternate or modified schemes are sometimes used as is suitable to the event.

Reserved seating

In a purely reserved seating (also known as allocated seating or assigned seating) scheme, each ticket is assigned a specific seat in the venue at the time of purchase. Seats are typically identified by row number/letter, seat number, and sometimes by section.

Reserved seating is the most common scheme used for large indoor venues such as stadiums, arenas, and larger theaters. It is also common at other venues, as are other seating schemes, such as outdoor amphitheaters.

I love swings. In fact, I have installed a large swing in my terrace so that I can enjoy it whenever I please. But with the latest concept offering from Matteo Modica, I don't even need to step out into my terrace to enjoy a swing.

What's the difference between stage seating and main floor seating?
Q. A friend and I are wanting to go see Spring Awakening. There are on stage seats for $25 and main floor and balcony seats for more money. I would have assumed stage seating would be more expensive, but it's not? So I was wondering if someone could explain the difference to me, and tell me which one is better?

A. Stage floor seating you are actually sitting some with minor cast members on the stage. You may not bring any personal belongings with you no bags or anything. You see a lot of the show from the back and from behind. I saw it on Broadway from the orchestra 6th row. I wished I had stage seating. See if you can get down stage on ether stage right or stage left for the best view. You still sill miss a little but you will be up close and that is really cool. I guess it all is how you feel about it. It is a different experience for sure.

What is the best seating for a classical guitar player?
Q. My brother plays classical guitar constantly. I was wondering, what would the most comfortable, best-fitting seating be?

A. If you mean how to hold the guitar...For right handed players the guitar rests on the left thigh with the left foot elevated (raised) off the ground supported by a foot stand.

What is the best seating at a concert hall when seeing an opera?
Q. Here are the seating choices: DC: Dress Circle OC: Orchestra OCII: Orchestra II LM: Lower Mezzanine UM: Upper Mezzanine LB: Lower Balcony UB: Upper Balcony What do all of these mean and what is the best for seeing an opera?
Asked by Chris - Wed Apr 5 18:00:50 2006 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Go with orchestra II. Or lower mezzanine. This sit you far back enough to see the action, while keeping you close. The upper balcony levels are too far up to get a good view, and the DC and OC are too close.
