Do network adapter cards work with a different companies routers?
Q. This may be a stupid question, but im just paranoid. I have a wireless router by linksys and once i bought a adapter card from belkin. The card did not work, but i think it was just a faulty card. Im just checking to make sure that if i bought a netgear wireless adapter card that it would work with my linksys router. Thanks for the help.

Is there an adapter that will allow my computer speakers to connect to my tv that has digital audio?
Q. I dont know the terms so I'll try my best to explain. I have these speakers and subwoofer that are made for connection to a computer. The speakers connect to the sub, and there's one cable that connects to the audio port on my laptop. I have an "adapter" that allows me to connect that cable to my dvd player. So I can watch movies (or play videogames) on my tv while using the speakers, however, when I'm watching television channels, the speakers dont work. Is there some kind of adapter that will allow me to hook that audio cable to digital output on my tv? Thanks.

How to safely remove a jammed adapter ring?
Q. I have a Canon Rebel XTI with the EF-S 18-55 mm lens it came with. Late last year, I purchased a wide angle/fish eye lens with an adapter ring to go on the lens that the camera came with, but after using it a few times, the lens adapter became jammed onto the 18-55 mm lens and I cannot remove it. Any suggestions to carefully remove the adapter ring as to not harm the lens? I really don't want to splurge $115 ( at the cheapest ) for a new 18-55 mm. Thank you for your time.

A. Take it to Ritz or Wolf or any other good camera store (not Best Buy or Walmart) and see if they can get it off for you. They might charge you to do it, but it shouldn't be very much. They have wrenches that can be used on lenses.

Q. I just bought a wireless adapter for my xbox 360 on ebay. I connected the adapter to my xbox but it can't find the network. I have a Netgear Range Max Wireless Router. I have no problem using the network wireless with two MACs. Does anyone have a suggestion if it is the adapter that is bad or I need to configure something else. I would appreciate it. What cable/adapter do I need to connect 2 different Audio Sources to one set of speakers?
Q. I have just invested alot of money in a HDTV and decided I wanted a new speaker set to go with it. However I want this speaker set to also connect to my Hifi. So i need an adapter/cable that can connect both my TV and HiFi to one set of speakers. The speakers have a standard stereo RCA (red/white) connection.
Asked by ccolination - Fri Jul 9 17:00:03 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You need a stereo receiver. You TV's audio output (RCA connection) is not meant to power a set of speakers. It is only a very low output signal that needs to be amplified. If your current stereo system doesn't have an auxiliary input that you can use, then it's time to upgrade your receiver. I hope you didn't blow your entire wad on the TV.

Is a cassette adapter for my ipod a stronger connection than a line-in jack?
Q. Thus far all wireless and plug in ipod players suck in my car because of the poor antennae and reception. Would a cassette adapter solve this problem or make it worse? Thanks!
Asked by Tibs99 - Wed Aug 20 15:33:49 2008 - - 0 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The cassette adapter will provide a secure transfer of the music from your Ipod to your car stereo. There is no transmission of the signal through the air - it is transferred directly to the playing head of your cassette deck. It definitely couldn't be worse than an FM transmitter.

How to add an adapter to the configure tab in Cain and Abel?
Q. My cain and abel program hasnt been running for some time now and i have realized that when i go to configure which adapter i want to use for the sniffer function, mine is not listed. i dont know why this may be, i have uninstalled and reinstalled many times. Any suggestions?
Asked by jewfro5021 - Tue Apr 21 16:13:35 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It did run, or never? Can you see your adapter under ipconfig /all (in command prompt)? If you can't even see it under ipconfig, then there's a problem with the driver. If never, this is most likely a WinPcap-specific issue, and unfortunately that indicates your network adapter may not be supported. If you suspect it's the sniffer's fault, you can verify this again by reinstalling WinPcap (it should be in Add/Remove Programs), and then install Wireshark instead of Cain. If you can't see your adapter (go to "interface") in Wireshark either, well you're out of luck.

How much is the adapter that allows you to play an ipod through the car stero?
Q. I would be buying it at walmart. Anyone know? Do you have to get the apple brand or do they make ones that work with apple that are cheaper? My car stero won't play mix cd'sI burn on my computer. Will the adapter work or will it be the same? Do they make something where you can listen to it over the speakers but charge it in the cigarett lighter at the same time?

A. you can buy adapters that plug into your 12v cource (cigeratte lighter) and transmit your ipod music to your radio like a mini radio station. Thoughs are fairly expensive though. I bought mine from Best Buy for $70, but it was a high end model. You can always check walmart.com for a quick price check.

What kind of ac adapter does a black macbook use?
Q. The wattage is on the AC adapter. I need to figure this out because I may have switched AC adapters with a friend. So basically I just need someone with a black macbook to look at their ac adapter and tell me what the wattage is, either 60 or 85.
Asked by Jared M - Sun Jan 3 18:24:08 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There's an easier way to tell. If the wattage is too low, then the adapter just won't run the machine. If the wattage is too high, then the macbook will only use as much as it needs. In either case, the macbook won't be harmed by using the wrong wattage adapter (as long as its an Apple adapter). So, just plug in the 60 watt adapter. If it works, then that's all you need. If it doesn't, then use the 85 watt. If you have to choose one before you can test it out, then go with the 85 watt one and you will be assured that it will work.

A. You'll have to go to the manufacturer's web site for the adapter or the laptop manufacturer. When you get there, download all of the drivers for your laptop, burn them to a CD and copy them to your laptop. Install all of the drivers and you should be good to go.

What exactly is a transparent material adapter and where can I get one for a HP PSC 1410?

A. The TMA or transparency Materials Adapter is a light emiting device that mounts over your flat bed scanner so that you can scan film instead of just documents and photos. Your scanner would have come with it as they are scanner specific devices. If you bought your scanner used and didn't get one with it you may be out of luck.
