What cycle gives highest water level in Kenmore Oasis HT washer?
Q. Just got a Kenmore Oasis HT washer. Already know about the lower water efficiency levels...Just tried using the SHEETS and Bulky/Bedding cycles and wonder if this is the setting with the highest water levels? Any suggestions? I bought this machine to do LARGE loads, but want to make sure clothes get clean with enough water. Pls don't tell me to get a front loader machine, because I have already heard horror stories about mold/mildew/smell. Help???!!! Forgot to add...yes, read owner's manual back and forward with no answer to my question.

How do I tighten the bobbin on an old Kenmore?

A. Actually, if the thread on the bottom side is "loopy" that indicates a tension problem on the TOP tension disks, not the bobbin. In fact, adjusting your bobbin could make the problem worse. Without the manual, you're trying to fix something flying blind, but here are some things you can try. Remember, all adjustment you make should be in small increments. Before you start adjusting your tension, make these checks. This is very important, even though it might seem basic. 1. Be certain your machine is threaded properly. Even folks with lots of experience can miss a thread guide. Unthread and rethread it with a fresh spool. Seriously. 2. Be sure your bobbin is properly inserted. Take it out, look it over. A. If you can get to the outlet pump at the bottom you will find the outlet pipe attached to the pump with a spring clamp. You will need a pair of pliers to release the spring then pull the pipe off and check for blockage by pushing a bent coat hanger up it until it exits at the sink end. If it's clear of debris then check confines of the pump for debris or malfunction.

A. If the unit is actually getting cold on the outside, it sounds as though you have the condensor fan blocked. Any A/C unit needs room to breathe. Also, you will not be able to hear the compressor in an 'apartment' fridge. It is just too small, and you'll only hear the fan. My guess is that you have it up against a wall or the evaporator coil is clogged with animal hair. The evaporator is freezing over with condensation, thus giving the cool effect on the outside of the unit. There are really too many variations to take into account without seeing the unit in person, but these would be my main guesses: Blocked air-flow, or, blocked air-flow.

Most self clean cycles take 4 hrs.The oven is gradually heated up to 950 degrees F which takes up to 1 hr and after the 4 hrs is up it takes some time for the oven to cool down before the door will unlatch at below 550 degrees. You can self clean your oven 2-3 times for the price of a can of oven cleaner and without the elbow grease involved. You should not use harsh oven cleaners on the soft porcelain on your oven liner or it could be damaged. Before you put your oven into self clean you should wipe out any excess spillage with a damp soapy cloth and after cleaning you wipe away the ash with a damp cloth. If you do not want the oven racks to take on a blueish to ugly gray tint do not leave them in the oven during the clean cycle.

Several things you want as a new serger owner: Easy loading/set up... good instruction book Name brand support (you have that in Sears) Go online and search for "free serger ideas"... also check yahoo groups. Join one or two on serger use (I put link below, in sources). Mostly...don't be afraid to try different things with your serger...I have made quilts, curtains, done a bit of hierloom panels, etc... Check your library for books by Nancy Zieman on Serger use...they are a wealth of information.

What do you think is wrong with my Kenmore stove?
Q. My stove (oven part) won't turn off. So I have to unplug it. Also it smells like it is self cleaning and it is really hot when I do plug it in. It's not turned on to the self cleaning mode...but it seems to be stuck in that mode. Is it worth getting it fixed or is there a simple fix? It's a Kenmore glass top stove about 4 years old. I definitely will keep it unplugged, but I just wonder if there is a way to get it out of self cleaning mode.

A. Clean Filter...does it have a lint filter or some sort of filter on it? Did you try to look in the book for the meaning of the CF? See and that's why washers and dryers should have digital screens on them because they cause more problems than the simple ones do. If you can't find it I'd call who ever you bought it off of and ask them whats wrong with it I'm sure they've heard of it before.

What is the inteli-clean feature on my kenmore vacuum?
Q. I have a Kenmore vacuum, and there is this feature called inteli-clean. When it's on, it is sometimes impossible to get the vacuum to think an area is clean - but when inteli-clean is off, it says the area is clean (the green light) within a few passes. I don't have the manual, so I don't know what the vacuum does differently in inteli-clean mode - does anyone know what this mode does? Is it worth using (and trying to get the green light when using this mode)?
