A. First, unscrew the aerator from the end of the spout. Be sure to hold the screens in and flip it over and backflush it. While it is removed, see if the sound is still there. If so, there is probably a bad "O" ring in the cartridge. You can replace the whole cartridge cheaply. Just remember the position it was installed in when replacing. You can mark it with a felt tip marker for reference.

A. Can be opened or closed remotely without complex 3 to 15 pound instrument air control plumbing from the control device, all through the plant, and hoping there are no air leaks in the flimsy copper tubing. Rate and amount of opening/closing can be controlled accurately.

Q. what is the operation of the cabin pressure outflow valve and cabin pressure safety valve.?
Asked by Mayowa S - Sun May 25 02:51:08 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You need to be more specific in asking the question, however; Outflow Valve is a valve that regulates the amount of air needed to be released (or on the other hand, to be kept inside) from the cabin in order to keep the cabin in a required amount of pressurization. A safeguard to protect the aircraft from being over-pressurized or under-pressurized is by employing safety valves. When the differential pressure is too high and the outflow valve fails to rectify the situation, the safety valve opens, reducing the cabin pressure. Likewise, when on the ground, and the cabin pressure is lower then outside air pressure, the negative pressure valve will equalize the situation.

Valve-replacement operation? (Open heart surgery)?
Q. Someone I am very close to will be having this operation, and I'm very scared about risks. When my grandad had this operation it was a big shock for the whole family because he had to have it the day after he got told he needed it, and there was a 30% chance he wouldn't make it. His risk was high because he was diabetic, a smoker and 80 years old. The patient is 50 years old, is asthmatic but otherwise has average health and does a little bit of exercise each week - 20 min runs about twice a week. Can anyone tell me whether the risk will be big this time? Are these operations really that safe? Is it possible the body will reject the new valve therefore the operation will fail? Thanks for any information.
Asked by HazelnuT - Wed Apr 28 15:30:45 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. As with any surgery, age and overall health plays a large part. The fact the patient is active and is in otherwise good health is always a plus factor. Asthma is rarely a problem. Valve replacements are not considered major surgery anymore, they are very common and have high success rates. With regards to your Granddad, you need to take into account his age, the fact he is diabetic and a smoker, all these factors have a negative impact on any kind of surgery and recovery. Valve replacements are usually done via keyhole sugery. Which type of valve is he having? The operation takes about 2-3 hours and afterwards he will be taken to ICU before being taken back to the ward. Some valves do need replacing, the older artificial heart valves… [cont.]

A. Change to black stools must always be investigated as it may indicate bleeding. In your case this might be due to something simple such as your anti-platelet drug, (aspirin, clopidigrel or warfarin.) Advise your doctor!

A. all engines work in the same way regardless of the number of valves, the camshaft is driven by a chain or toothed belt via the crankshaft and is geared to turn at half the speed.to explain the workings further would probably confuse a person with little or no knowledge of such things so have a look at the following link, rekon that should help.

Q. what is the effect on engine operation if the selective spacer(on the valve spring) is being too thick?
Asked by kcl - Sun Dec 16 19:50:30 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If the spacer is to large, two things can happen. First the valve stays open to long and does not seat properly. Resulting in the valve burning and major back fires through the fuel system. Or the valve goes not open fully resulting in poor performance. Ja.

Q. I know a person who would be in need of valve repair but I think that the doctors think it is too risky a surgery. I plan to get the records and mail them to the Cleveland Clinic, 2nd opinion charge of $565. Thank you for your answers.

A. Any invasive surgery has some risk, no matter what or who does it. The heart valve surgery has a great deal of risk, like any other heart problem, but, the Cleveland Clinic is one of the worlds leaders in heart surgery, and have been specializing on heart valve repair and replacement for a long time, and their success rate is second to none. The best.

How does a solenoid valve work?
Q. Hi everybody, I need some information about the operation of a double solenoid valve and how to control it using a PLC
Asked by Sharaf - Sat Oct 4 03:29:57 2008 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. A double solenoid has two solenoids, and when voltage is supplied to one (and not the other) the valve shifts. Note that if voltage is supplied to both solenoids at the same time, the valve will stay in the position is was in (i.e. it won't shift since the solenoids will be working against each other). This is typically not desired, so make sure you remove voltage from one side when supplying it to the other. If no voltage is supplied to either solenoid, the result will be the same as if voltage is supplied to both, in that the valve will stay in the position is was in. What this means is that the cylinder has no home position, so when power is cut, the valve will stay where it was at that time, and the cylinder will continue to do work… [cont.]

Q. My mum has just had a operation today for a badly leaky valve, any information about there recovery would be great Thanks
Asked by Sexy Red - Mon Sep 28 16:38:54 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Could you re-edit with which valve has been replaced, the age of your mother and any other relevant medical history including general health. Basically, heart valve repairs and replacements are pretty safe nowadays, however the operative risk does depend on other factors too. Is your mother having open chest surgery or keyhole surgery? The latter has a quicker recovery time. With keyhole surgery, rather than making a cut down the sternum, incisions are made without opening the ribcage. She may have also had percutaneous valve replacement where a tube is passed through an artery in the groin to the heart. Your mum will have been taken to ICU after the replacement where she will be monitored for 24 hours and providing all is well, she… [cont.]

What is the purpose of the valve cover gasket and if it is cracked what will happen to the car?
Q. My valve cover gasket is cracked and I need to know how it will affect the operation of my car. Will it cause it to over heat?
Asked by Chaun - Tue Aug 29 09:27:23 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Valve cover gaskets fit between the valve cover (on top of the engine) and the cylinder head (middle of the engine). It's purpose is to keep a tight seal between the two and prevent oil from seeping out. A failed gasket will at least let some oil out creating a smokey smelly mess. If it lets enough oil out, you may run the risk of spilt oil catching fire. Using your car with too little oil and / or inadequate oil pressure can cause major engine damage. Replacing this gasket on most cars is quite easy and inexpensive. Its not a very serious problem as long as it gets taken care of soon.

Asked by kookie - Thu May 22 07:20:00 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You see this is why you can expect to pay for an engineer, it takes years to learn about all the different appliances and all the updates that come along. Still one thing you could try before calling an engineer is as follows. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher and remove the hose, turn on the machine for a couple of minutes in a fill position then turn off the machine, reconnect the hose, turn the water back on then turn the machine back on. If this doesn't solve the problem, then you will need to call an engineer. Good luck.

How can I get process detail of nitriding on engine valve?
Q. I want the detailed process of nitrating operation which is used for wear resistance.I want to know what are all the failure modes and corrective actions
Asked by sarav - Thu Oct 16 14:05:47 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. nitrating is done on engine valves by heating the valves in a furnace in a inert atmosphere like nitrogen and then cooled or quenched with cool nitrogen the Temperature till what the valves are heated depends upon the grade of materiel used and the percentage of hardness required.but also find out any person who will be able to grind the valves for u after nitrating because nitrating will slightly deform the valve. and if u are using this valve for performance then it will damage ur engine. or else go for cyniding of valves is in this process cynide is heated till about 900 degrees and the materiel required is dipped in this hot molten cynide. this process is used in tempering the firing's or shooting barrel of military tanks. enjoy...
