Is it really necessary to wear a retainer anymore after wearing one for years?
Q. I really am so sick and tired of wearing that damn thing. I have been wearing it all the time for awhile, then every night, then once a week, now it is about every other week at most. I have been loyally wearing it for years. I can't fall asleep when i try to wear it at night, and I have fears that it might even be causing damage to my gums. Haven't I come to the point where I don't really need to wear it anymore??

A. Yes, it is very well necessary to still wear it, retainers are meant to keep your teeth in alignment for the rest of your life and you keep it if for the rest of your life. But as others have said, you can get a permanent retainer. It's called a "Fixed Retainer." A fixed retainer typically consists of a passive wire bonded to the tongue-side of the lower incisors (lower incisors are the 4 bottom front teeth). Although i recommend you do not get a fixed retainer, fixed retainers are usually the source of tartar build-up, due to the placement and difficulty with flossing, tartar build-up can occur, and could lead to severe gingivitis, depending on how well you keep your dental hygiene. Even with a fixed retainer, you still may need a… [cont.]

What are tips for wearing a weight vest for running and jump roping?
Q. I want to wear a weight vest while running and jump roping and when I'm riding my bike. What are some tips of wearing the weight vest right and not over doing it. I will also be wearing while playing basketball and pull-ups. Could I wear it while lifting dumbbells? I am planning to wear it while I run a 2-5 miles every night and doing 1000 jump ropes and maybe while lifting dumbbells? Should I take protein? And yes I will run 2-5 miles and do 1000 jump ropes every night.

How soon can I start wearing different pairs of earrings?
Q. I got my ears pierced February 16th of this year. I had them pierced from before (since I was 3), but they got infected because I didn't clean them, and they closed up. The lady who pierced my ears for me told me that I should wear my starter-kit earrings for 6 weeks and then switch to a new pair of earrings that I should wear for around 6 months. However, I have neglected to change my earrings since I got my starter pair, and am still in fact wearing them. I take very good care of my ears and clean them daily with a special solution. My question is this: can I start wearing different pairs of earrings like normal girls do when school starts at the end of July? My mother says that it's okay as long as I clean the posts of each earring… [cont.]

A. You usually have to wait 6 weeks before changing them out. But you have to keep earrings in at all times for about 6 months.

How do I stay keep my goth style while wearing a school uniform?
Q. I'm a goth and and I go to a public school where I can wear anything I want. But next year I'm starting at a new school that makes you wear a uniform. I hate uniforms because I can't stand to look like everyone else. The uniform is a green teeshirt with long khakis. I'm going to change when school gets out but I still don't want to wear the uniform for eight hours. I've thought about just not wearing the uniform but I'm going to have to eventually. Any suggestions for keeping my goth style without doing anything to the shirt or khakis? We're really not allowed to sew anything on to the uniform or mess it up in anyway.

A. you can have black school suplies with skulls on themvor whatever you want . you can accesorize like wear a black chocker with a skull on it( or whatever you want on it) you can bring a sweater with whatever you want on it they'll probabley let you wear a sweater but i'm not sure. wear the kind of shoes you want, and wear the kind of makeup you want and wear black nail polish and carry around a goth-ish backpack. i think you could do any of those things but i'm not completlry sure with the school rules. hope i helped though.

When you start wearing glasses is it true that your eyes progressively get worse?
Q. When you start wearing glasses to correct short sightedness, is it true that your eyes progressively get worse and you need stronger and stronger prescriptions? I found out today that I need to start wearing glasses, and when I told my flatmate she said that if I wear them all the time my eyes will just adapt to the lenses and then they won't be strong enough. Is that true?
Asked by DFierce - Sun Mar 8 01:47:14 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It is possible that your prescription will increase over time but if you choose not to wear glasses, it will increase faster. When you don't wear glasses to correct your vision you have to squint and strain your eyes to see things, which is worse for your eyes in the end. Not wearing glasses when you need to will only increase your prescription faster. You can request for your prescription to be lowered maybe by a quarter or so, so that they are not too strong but either way you should wear your glasses if you are having difficulties seeing distant objects.

When should I start wearing skirts or dresses to skating practice?
Q. I'm in Gamma. I was wondering when should I start wearing skirts or dresses. I wear a jacket and skating pants right now. So, I wonder when would be the appropriate time to wear skirts or dresses. Also, what dress or skirt would you reccomend.

A. The time to start wearing skating skirts and dresses is when you start to feel comfortable in them and not like a fool. Most skaters, yes, you're a skater, wear stretchy athletic pants, yoga pants, jeans or even just leggings to learn to skate in. Those are all fine. Once you feel confident enough and you know you are not always falling down, you will want to start wearing a skirt with a t-shirt and jacket. Then you might transition to a lycra or panne velvet skating dress once in a while. Check in your rink's pro shop for practice skirts, dresses and warm Mondor skating tights. What are men wearing to the gym these days?
Q. I've been told my gym gear (sweat shorts and ratty tshirts) are a bit dated. What are men wearing to the gym today? I'm not looking to make a fashion statement, but I tend to wear up-to-date fashions. I see a bunch of new materials for gym-stuff (mainly synthetic designed to keep you cool and evaporate sweat). Are muscle shirts in, or are the sleveless tshirts the deal? And shorts? Whatever the modern gear is, it has got to be functional above all else. Thanks!

A. Adidas or Nike workout pants/shorts and a white tee shirt, beater ok too. No parachute pants, crazy patterns or ankle/knee high socks!!! Wear "footies" (no-show socks)and the shoes that are "in" are not high tops or basketball shoes, they are a darker colored running shoe such as Adidas, Nike, New Balance. Thanks for being willing to change, I see so many guys who are stuck in the eighties! Most importantly, though, get a good workout, don't forget cardio and please work out those legs! Contrary to what a lot of guys think, girls actually do NOT like chicken legs! I recommend squats with the smith rack. Good luck!

What is the women wearing under the bottom eyelid?
Q. I have seen a lot of women wearing a color under their bottom eyelid, not on the line above the hairs where most of us wear our eyeliner, but under the complete eye. Can someone tell me what is this and how to apply it. I seem to think it will run or smudge. Thanks for any help.
Asked by Namoosa~ - Sat Apr 21 00:44:47 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. This can be either eyeliner or eyeshadow. Eye liner is applied below the lower lashes just as it is above them. The eyeshadow is applied with a thin brush or tip, darker at the outside corners and sweeping in. If you decide to do this, be SURE that you have no bags under your eyes as this will enhance those bags. (They can be reduced with a hemorrhoid or skin tightening cream.) Generally the color used under the eye should be the same lighter accent color used in the corners of the eye and possibly the crease, but should not be the same color as the eyelid itself.

Remember that TO's weather is really unpredictable - some years it's warm around that time and other year's it's still freezing. It's whatever you feel comfortable in!! For me - it's got to be at least 20C before I start wearing shorts...

How do I get over pronounciation problems while wearing my retainer?
Q. I recently got my braces off, and I have to wear a retainer. The first time I wore it to school, I couldn't speak right and it was really uncomfortable, with the stupid plastic thing right over the roof of my mouth. I really don't want my teeth to relapse back into their old positions, yet I hate sounding like a four-year old with a lisp. Does anyone have any tips? Currently, I am resorting to wearing the retainer only at night and sometimes on weekends, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, marywho92

A. Read the front page of the newspaper out loud. By the time you get half-way done, your muscles will have made the adjustment and you'll do just fine.

Today, bags are used wider than before. We go shopping or go walking must with a bag. In a word, we must have a bag no matter where we go. As a matter of fact, now, many men also use bags.
